Enhancing Livelihood and house construction support to Disaster Victims

That project was formulated to support the disaster victims of Tatapani VDC of Surkhet district. Because of the conflict to Tatapani and Tikapur, an accident of killing a youth and firing to huts was incurred. ISS developed a project to support those conflict/disaster victims and supported them to resolve their conflict and raise income.

Major outcomes achieved:

• Increased the level of harmony among the people of Tatapani and Tikapur and carried out few round of collective interaction to solve the conflict among them.

• Rehabilitated the conflict/disaster affected people and came into the normal life process.

• Increased the involvement of affected people in IG activities and improving the income generation initiatives.

• Developed a co-operative and they have been able to generate the capital of around 4,00,000.00 in their cooperative. They are mobilizing the fund of co-operative for their income generations
.
• Learned lessons on how to maintained the community harmony.

• ISS was able to provide food and non food item to 200 house hold of disaster affected people.

• 47 House has constructed and handover to Disaster affected people of Tranga VDC and installed 20 watt solar system in their house. After that affecting people are staying safely in their home and children are studying in night time and regularly attending school.

• 60 Life Jacket had hand over to VDC office and it is preventing to risk from flood and people have easy and develop the confident to ride the river boat .
